The traditional kilts consisted of long swaths of wool that were wrapped in the body of the wearer. They were simpler to make than pants. Additionally, kilts helped keep the wearer warm during the cold, wet Highlands. Kilts were worn by soldiers during a battle and used the Claymore Swords. A kilt, in turn, was constructed from tartan. Each clan had their tartan which was easily identifiable by other clans.
